Make listing of flight fees and taxes mandatory

THE Malaysian Aviation Commission (MavCom), as the local regulatory body for economic and commercial matters related to civil aviation, should make it mandatory for airlines to give a breakdown of the taxes and fees levied on flight bookings irrespective of whether they are domestic or international.

I tried to book a return flight to Penang at the end of last month but the taxes and fees charged by the carrier were almost 50% of the base fare, which shocked me.
