IKIM’s view on “Power, politics and trust” (The Star, March 20) deserves close reading as it is most relevant and timely with the 14th general election just around the corner. How true the cliché “everything is political” is.
Politics is what the government does as well as the views voters have about what the government should do or not do. Arguably, trust in politicians is the key to democratic stability and advancement. Put simply, political trust is about matching deeds to promises.
