Our roads are not built to last

LET me tell you what’s wrong with the roads in Malaysia. They are in terribly bad condition because of shoddy workmanship and poor quality of the materials used.

And once a road has been tarred, chances are it will soon be dug up by a utility company. The road will then be resurfaced but the work will be so poorly done that the surface will become uneven in no time and potholes will start to form. I have actually seen a stretch of road riddled with potholes after just three weeks of being tarred.
