LAST year, a picture of the annual meeting of the Atheist Republic held in Kuala Lumpur went viral on Malaysian social media, triggering concern among the Govern-ment and an investigation on the group to determine if any Muslims were involved.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki in a statement declared that “Atheism should not be allowed in Malaysia as it contradicts both the Federal Constitution and the Rukun Negara.”
