Time to crack the whip on absent MPs

IT was surprising to note that the bloc vote on the Supply Bill 2018 at the committee level for the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry was passed, with 52 in favour and 51 against, last Monday. This is an extremely narrow victory and the Government was almost “shot down” by an incredible one vote majority.

By all counts, it could have been a huge embarrassment for the Government had it lost in the voting process.
