I AM encouraged upon reading Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye’s suggestion in a recent letter that arts therapy be used to address social, mental, juvenile delinquency and even suicidal issues. Unfortunately, he did not elaborate on what he viewed as arts therapy.
If I may, arts therapy is a specialised non-invasive rehabilitation discipline that addresses various physical and psychological ailments of special needs’ people ranging from cerebral palsy (physical, cognitive and vocal impairment) to autism and dyslexia. It can also be used for normal persons.
