Good sense in proposing for more parks

SUNDAY Star’s proposal, “Make more space in cities for people to walk” (Oct 15) makes great sense. Dedicated public green spaces such as parks and walking paths are needed to encourage more folks to walk, relax and exercise.

All too often, urban planning and development only look at more housing, schools, and basic facilities such as water and electricity. Parks, walking paths and green spaces are an afterthought and wrongly regarded as a luxury, not a necessity.
