Smuggled cigarettes pose greater risks to health

RECENTLY, Deputy Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya proposed a plan to increase the legal cigarette prices by about 26.5% to RM21.50 per pack from the existing RM17 per pack.

The proposed plan is part of the government’s ongoing effort to curb the smoking habit among many of our people and, most importantly, to prevent our youth from buying and becoming addicted to cigarettes.
