Narrower lane: With many motorists opted for double parking in Taipan, other visitors find it hard to manoeuvre their way out.

PARKING space in urban areas is a scarce commodity these days. Despite the increase in vehicle numbers on the road, the authorities are set on reducing the number of parking lots.

This is to dissuade motorists from using their own vehicles and encourage them to switch to public transportation. According to Pemandu, only 17% of Malaysians use public transportation compared to 60% in Singapore and 87% in Hong Kong.
