I REFER to W. Tissa Perera’s account of the Malayan Emergency and his tribute to members of the security forces who lost their lives fighting the communists, “Guardians of peace during the Emergency” (The Star, Oct 12).
An octogenarian born and bred in a rubber plantation, I have bitter memories of the atrocities committed by the communist terrorists (CTs) led by Chin Peng during the Emergency (1948-1960).
