FOR about 10 years now, there has been an average of one death every two years in Malaysia due to electrocution by water heaters. The most recent incident was in July this year in Negeri Sembilan.
However, the relevant authorities have not released the outcome of their investigations into these incidents, making it very difficult for civil society organisations like us to engage the general public on the safe use of water heaters.
