Unethical side of news websites

OF late, I have noticed many online news sites based in Malaysia that have a habit of lifting and plagiarising content from legitimate news sites. Some of these so-called news websites, or what was known not too long ago as blogs, often re-publish news and articles from accredited websites like The Star Online.

I understand that these online news sites aspire to be legitimate news portals to get more page views and also to increase their social media engagement. But what they are doing is clearly unfair to the original publisher and journalists who do the hard work to produce the articles.
