Opt for economical approach to foreign workers

THE rehiring programme to legalise foreign workers in our country ended on June 30. It would be good if the Government and the agencies involved such as MyEG publish a report to show the number of foreign workers who have been legalised through this initiative out of the estimated 1.4 million who are currently in Malaysia without official documentation.

As a Malaysian and an employer of foreign workers, I feel it is extremely important for us to know the response to this programme as it will determine the direction of the Government in handling issues pertaining to manpower and human resources.
