Rent your home and be free to enjoy life

I REFER to the reports headlined “They rent, we buy” (Sunday Star, June 26). Aspiring to get one’s own home is good but the reality is – and this is true the world over – it is not within the means of everybody to do so.

Many in the developed world now, especially in New York and Germany, have decided to rent their homes. Firstly, this gives them the flexibility of movement for jobs or to better environments and locations. Secondly, the decision to rent immediately releases more funds from their earnings for socialising and a better life.
