Let market forces prevail in the bus industry


IN October 2014, Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) Chairman Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar announced that regulatory control over school bus fares would be removed from January 2015.

It was a masterstroke as the Federation of Malaysian School Bus Operators Association had earlier demanded for a 40% increase in fares.
