Do more to get locals into 3D jobs

AS the Government has put on hold new recruitment of foreign workers, it is timely for Malaysians to seek job opportunities in sectors that are dependent on foreign workers. For starters, our youth should accept the challenge to work in the difficult, dirty and dangerous (3D) sector.

In reality, occupational hazards exist not only in the 3D sector but also in all types of jobs and in any industry. What matters is the management of the issues involved, and employers need to know how to manage these risks to safeguard the safety and health of their employees. The workers, meanwhile, have to attend safety courses to understand the hazards in their respective field of work.
