How will TPPA benefit local travel industry players?

AS a travel industry player, I am in the dark on the impact of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) has on the tourism industry. Even before this, local tour operators are already losing out to giant online travel agents (OTA). These OTAs are not subject to local laws and taxes, unlike Malaysian registered businesses.

While the Tourism and Culture Ministry (Motac) is keeping watch over local tour operators, foreign companies operating in cyberspace are having a field day taking away the market share.
