I TOTALLY agree with the letter “Shocking state of our public toilets” (The Star, Feb 22) by Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye.
I have just come back from New Delhi, India and was very impressed by the toilets at the international airport there and even at the Jaipur Airport.
New Delhi has a world-class airport and the toilets are spick and span at all times. We also noticed clean toilets in shops and restaurants throughout our stay there.
On our return to KLIA2 at 7.30am we were appalled at the condition of the toilets.
A toilet is the first thing a passenger looks for, once on the ground.
What a rude shock it was to see the deplorable state of the toilets here. This problem has been highlighted time and again but to no avail.
It is not rocket science to know that clean and hygienic toilets are a must at any time of the day, especially more so in an airport where first impressions are had by the thousands of international passengers.
I was truly ashamed as a Malaysian on this point. If every other country can get it right, WHY CAN’T WE?
