Control food price hikes

IT is heartening to know that the special committee set up to oversee the public’s concerns over the rising cost of living has met to discuss the issue.

To the layman, this rise in the cost of living is basically due to the fact that setting the prices for everything – from food and goods to rents and commuting costs – is totally in the hands of businessmen and traders. There might be broader external factors driving the rise but traders generally are a big part of it.
