Don’t leave senior citizens behind in ICT

THE report, “Najib: We want more ICT-savvy Malaysians” (The Star, Sept 28), gives senior citizens here hope that perhaps this time around, we will be included in the Government’s drive to build a more ICT-savvy society.

In his acceptance speech upon receiving the “ICT in Sustainable Development Award” presented by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) at a gala dinner at the United Nations last Saturday, Najib said digital inclusion was vital and that was why the 11th Malaysia Plan was people-centric. He added that this would close the knowledge gap and allow users to tap various benefits of using the Internet.
