No longer a colonial language

I ATTENDED a financial planning workshop in Kuala Lumpur recently. The workshop not only enhanced the participants’ knowledge in financial planning but also exposed us to a wider perspective on how we could improve ourselves to cope with advancements in financial services in other parts of the world. The organiser invited outstanding speakers, four each from Malaysia and Singapore, to share their invaluable experience.

In order to keep abreast of global developments, our Government introduced the Financial Services Act 2013 which came into force on June 30, 2013.
