Train bus drivers to do safety briefings

A BUS with 16 passengers caught fire at the Jasin toll plaza a month ago, as reported in “16 in close shave with burning bus” (The Star, July 13). Thankfully, all the passengers including the bus captain were unharmed.

I wonder if bus drivers are provided with proper training to handle a situation like this. When a fire breaks out, there will probably be many panic-stricken passengers trying to escape either through the main or emergency doors or broken windows, depending on the source of the fire.
