Why flying flags on cars can be dangerous

When this practice was first started, probably in the late 90’s, I flew the miniature flag on my Suzuki Vistara proudly to school everyday. Then, one day, while my car was parked in the school compound, the flag was stolen! Never mind I thought, a student must have liked it so much and wanted to show his patriotism too.
