IN the wake of news about the Malaysian scholar who was convicted in England for possession of kiddie porn, it would be fair to say that paedophilic tendencies also exist among the locals in this country.

How else can you explain the four-year-old who was almost raped in a back alley in Sibu, the molestation of a six-year-old by the husband of a babysitter in Penang, the man raping his seven-year-old niece in Sungai Buloh and many other similar cases all around the country? I shiver at the thought of the cases that go unreported.
