I REFER to the article “Spectre of hypertension among teens” (The Star, May 16), which states that one in eight teenagers aged 18 and above has been found to be prone to hypertension and that the number increases with age. This is certainly very alarming.

Hypertension and diabetes are diseases which can silently damage our kidneys, eyes and other organs without any outward symptoms.
