A hard life for senior citizens

WHILE your reader from Butterworth finds price hikes “suffocating” “Don’t burden us with price hikes” (The Star, March 24), I have found it, besides being suffocating, also choking and strangling. A lot of seniors like me are being suffocated or choked to a slow and possibly painful death.

With limited savings and no pension, life is a daily struggle. The government hospital treating me has restricted my supply of medicine to a three-month period. It will also require me either to collect the medicines at the end of the third month or pay PosLaju to have them delivered.
