Higher vigilance to stop spread of TB

I REFER to the article “Growing concern over TB” (The Star, March 14) with the disclosure by the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) of the alarming number of tuberculosis (TB) cases among our foreign workers which should be viewed as a wake-up call by all concerned parties.

The Health Ministry said that from the year 2003, there has been a steady rise in the number of people diagnosed with TB in the country. Last year 24,710 people were said to be harbouring TB nationwide.
