Do away with outdated law on attempted suicide

I REFER to the letter “Time to review suicide law” (The Star, March 10). I concur with the sentiments and concerns expressed by the writer and commend him for highlighting the issue which I had raised last year.

I am deeply concerned about the continued criminalisation of failed suicide attempts, or parasuicide, in our country in opposition to the global trend of decriminalisation.
