No result slips for tests sat by teachers

I REFER to the letter “Sort out the mess at the source” (The Star, Nov 25) in which the writer stated the Government was spending a huge amount of money to retrain English Language teachers who are identified to be incompetent, through its Professional Development Project (Pro-ELT) programme. Is the writer implying that English teachers attending ProELt are all incompetent?

In 2012, English teachers were instructed to sit for the Cambridge Placement Test to gauge their English competency. I did not get my result but was informed in our panel meeting that all teachers in my school got through the test. Our result was a “secret” as no result slips were issued.
