AS a practising medical officer in a district hospital, I wish to highlight to the Health Ministry problems that we have been facing almost daily, especially with regards to critical-care support.
This refers to patients with good/acceptable outcomes requiring critical-care support; a functional ventilator machine in a comprehensively monitored setting (intensive care unit) or a high dependency unit under the supervision of a trained/exposed doctor.
