Reaping rewards of maths


IT has been long been hypothesised that human beings only use a small percentage of their cerebral capacity at any given time. Obviously Iranian-born mathematician Maryam Mirzakhani (pic) is capable of using a bigger portion of her cerebral capacity to reach such a high level of achievement in complex geometry and navigation within space.

Mirzakhani was named the first female winner of 2014 Fields Medal, the top honour in mathematics.
