MUCH has materialised under the auspices of our science advisers to the Prime Minister, past and present, to tap on the advancement of US state-of-the-art technology from as far back as 20 years when MIGHT (Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology) was formed and more recently GSIAC (Global Science and Innovation Advisory Council) with assistance from the New York Academy of Sciences and now further intensified by the S2A (Science to Action) initiative last year to apply science and technology to national development and the people’s wellbeing.
The question that arises now is whether or not our younger generation will be prepared enough to firmly uphold the Herculean task as we advance into the competitive wilderness of cutting edge technology far into the future or will we merely crumble under the overwhelming weight, anxiety and complexity of it all.
