FOR the last 15 years, I have been utilising weather satellite pictures of the United States’ Naval Research Lab (NRL) to pinpoint severe weather to assist offshore marine operations in South China Sea and other oceans/seas.
Feedback from many site operation staff have confirmed reliability of these NRL cloud pictures for me to grade low severity to high severity type of weather beneath the clouds.
