SEMI-TRAILER tipper lorries, also known as giant buckets, were initially allowed to operate carrying bulky material such as agricultural produce or coal since 2007.
However, these lorries have continued to be used to ferry sand and granite, which are only allowed for the smaller dumper lorries that were also losing out on the business end.
