Making research more attractive

I REFER to the report “Where are we heading in research” (The Star, March 25) and would like to express my disappointment with the dwindling number of students venturing into the field of science.

Although our country realises that science is a field to drive us forward, and tried to have 60:40 (science-to-arts) student ratio, we are still lagging behind in the development of this field.
