Carrying on Tan Kah Kee’s good works


IN the light of a global trend highlighting spiritual heritage and corporate social responsibility (CSR), it is worth remembering the late Tan Kah Kee who contributed so much to the cultural and educational development in South-East Asia.

A group of Malaysian entrepreneurs headed by Tan Kai Hee, managing director of Hai-O, and Tan Yew Sing, president of the Kuala Lumpur-Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall, has set up a pro-tem committee to spearhead the formation of a Malaysian Tan Kah Kee Foundation to promote education, inculcate entrepreneurial spirit and spread the notion of nation-building through peace and harmony.
