CONGRATULATIONS to the Wildlife and the National Parks Department officers for saving the lives of more than 400 protected animals, including 302 Asiatic cobras, 146 box turtles and a macaque monkey from ending up in the cooking pot in countries, including Thailand, as exotic food.

In the raid in Kampong Kandis, Kodiang in Kedah, two men were arrested under the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010. Upon conviction these suspects face a maximum RM100,000 fine or five years’ jail sentence or both.
