KR1M project explained

WE refer to the SMS “1Msia shops must be for all” (The Star, July 5). Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia (KR1M) is a shop operating on a mini market format, which provides various basic necessities at low prices. This initiative was inspired by our Prime Minister on his concerns for the low income citizens in the urban areas.

To ensure that the KR1M project is successful and benefits the rakyat, two project phases will be mobilised, i.e. expansion of KR1M outlets throughout the nation, including urban and rural areas; and wholesaling and distribution of 1Malaysia products so that the wholesaler and local kedai runcit are able to purchase the 1Malaysia products for sale in their premises.
