Revamp Animal Act to curb serial abusers

TWO videos on YouTube and Facebook recently have awakened Malaysians to the truth: animal abuse is rampant in this country. Prompted by the two cases, the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS), a division of the Agriculture Ministry, will begin monitoring online animal abuse cases.

While the department’s actions are reassuring, Sahabat Alam Malaysia (SAM) would like to see all cases, not just high-profile ones, get the attention they deserve in the hope that more animal abusers will be brought to justice.
