THE findings of the Malaysian Employers Federation’s (MEF) survey on workplace productivity for 2010 show that employers are incurring over RM1bil losses annually because of workers who feign illness to get sick leave.
About 4% of lost man-days or working days are attributed to MCs alone, but the number of deceptive cases appear to be increasing. This practice appears to have become so rampant that it is among the highest in the region. And this is nothing to be proud of.
