IT IS interesting to note that there are fake datuks among us, “Hard to detect fake datuks without national registry” (Sunday Star, Sept 26) .

Nowadays, whether they are your former schoolmates or colleagues, one needs a reintroduction after a long absence as calling your former colleagues by their first name as you used to could be considered rude if he (or she) has been awarded a title.
