Ensuring food security is the right way to go

THE Southeast Asian Council for Food Security and Fair Trade (Seacon) applauds Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir for calling for proper control of Arowana breeding in the state (“Arowana farms to be legalised” – The Star, Feb 18).

His remark that padi production in the country should not in any way be compromised for the profit potential of a few individuals or enterprises reassures us that the state government is concerned about food security.
