RECENTLY two teams of urologists at Hospital Kuala Lumpur successfully transplanted my left kidney into my brother who had been on dialysis for a year.
Several days before the surgery, I read in the papers that 11,000 Malaysians whose kidneys have failed are on the waiting list for functioning kidneys. I suppose the majority of them, if not all, are waiting for cadaveric kidneys.
