Poor way to promote country

I EMPATHISE with the Welsh woman, Fran “Tourist info centre which is of no help” (The Star, Oct18) and would like to offer her our apologies for letting her and her family down.

There is no simple way of expressing it, but unfortunately, it hurts. It hurts to be told that we have failed our fellow visitors, it hurts that we have portrayed such a poor image of a multiracial Malaysia and it hurts to have employees of the tourist board to be so ignorant, apathetic and unhelpful.
