IT’S hard to please everyone. While some rave about their National Service (NS) experiences, others have less pleasant things to report. But it’s not just the SPM school leavers and other 17-year-olds who are affected; their parents too want assurances. Some find it hard to come to terms with leaving their children in the care of others and knowing very little of what goes on in the camps. Below are first person accounts of some parents as well as past and potential NS trainees.
