Stop the misleading ads by credit card firms

I NOTICED recently an advertisement by a finance company, offering a “free 29-inch flat screen TV” to customers who transfer RM5,000 of their outstanding credit card balances from their existing cards to the one offered by this company.  

The other condition imposed was that the customer had to maintain a RM4,500 outstanding balance on their new credit cards for a further 12 months.
