FROM the early 60s until the early 80s, the Ipoh Town Council, as it was then known, was well managed by state planning officer D.A. Aitken under the administration of E.G. Waller, followed by C.T. John and their elected councillors.
Planning and development of Ipoh were done according to council rules and regulations.
