OUR group finally made it to the top and as I was trying to catch my breath, the lady next to me settled down to have her legs massaged. Her masseuse was a stout farm lady who also doggedly tried to sell her a coffee-table book of the Great Wall. 

We were on top of the Simatai Great Wall where the view was so absolutely breathtaking it was worth the hike up here in below 20°C temperature (it dipped from 26°C at the foothill as it had begun to rain).
