ON stage, Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau, dressed in an all-white sports suit, was belting out his popular number Today against the backdrop of a mesmerising Great Wall lighted up against the night sky.

It was 8.30pm last Wednesday and we were in the midst of a musical extravaganza to celebrate the unveiling of the mascot of Paralympics 2008, which will start in Beijing on Sept 6, 2008, 12 days after the 2008 Olympics, which begins on Aug 8.
