Have proper bus stops to curb jams

THERE has been a lot of news lately on the upgrade of our public transport system.

While the Transport Ministry’s efforts are commendable, there is another concern that the Government should address – the narrow roads.

When RapidKL introduced feeder buses this month, there was a sudden influx of buses at the bus stops. These stops are located alongside main access roads.

When a large number of buses stop to drop and pick up passengers, it causes traffic congestion.

Proper stops should be designed so that buses stop away from the main road, with sufficient space to cater for stationary buses.
